Centenary Youth News

Senior and Jr youth has been pretty busy in the past two months.  In January the Boy Scouts brought the Pine Wood Derby to the FLC.  This event ran from 8 am til 8 pm on Saturday, Jan 23.  The youth ran the concession, and we sold a lot of food and drinks.  We decided to donate part of our earnings to Haiti relief through Feed My Starving Children, and to also donate a gas card to a family who has an illness in their family.  The rest we put in our account for either a summer mission trip, or a youth trip to Holiday World.

In Early February we met at Blue Grass Church and worked with other groups to fill meal packets for Feed My Starving Children.  During out 2 hour stint we filled enough boxes to supply 54 children with meals for one year.  Next year we would love to share this experience with others in the congregation.  On Feb 7 Julie and Roger Huebner hosted a Superbowl party for the youth.  It was a great time despite the score.  Thanks to all who helped with that.  On Feb 10 we filled valentine bags with sugar free and full sugar candy, and valentine cards.  We took those to Woodbridge Nursing Nursing facility on First Avenue for the 55 residents who live there.   We played Wii on the 17th.  The March schedule will be out this next week.   Centenary Youth group is open to anyone who is currently in 6th through 12th grade.
